Applicant, upon acceptance and signature of this permit, agrees to the following conditions:
1. All burning shall begin between Daylight to 12:00 p.m. All fires shall be fully extinguished no later than 2:00 p.m.
2. Burn only clean, dry, and natural vegetation. (Example: tree trimming, tumbleweeds, leaves, etc.) No lumber, plastics, rubber, tires, household waste, or general garbage may be burned.
3. No burning allowed if steady wind exceeds 10 mph.
4. No burning should cause noxious odors or excessive production of smoke.
5. No open field burning allowed in yards of residential properties. Only gathered piles not exceeding 5 feet in diameter and 2 feet in height may be burned. (This does not prohibit large commercial agricultural burning with a State Permit.)
6. Keep burn piles at least 25 feet from structures, other combustible materials, and property lines with combustible fencing or vegetation.
7. Use of burn barrels is prohibited due to inefficient burning and excessive smoke production.
8. A garden hose connected to a water supply and other approved fire-extinguishing equipment, such as shovels and rakes shall be present for use at all burn sites.
9. Burning materials shall be constantly attended by an adult who is knowledgeable in the use of the fire extinguishing equipment and familiar with the permit limitations that regulate burning. The attendant shall supervise the burning until the fire has been extinguished and is cool to the touch.
This permit is valid only under the conditions prescribed by law or by the District Chief relating to time, weather, burning specifications, firebreaks, and staffing requirements. Any deviation from the above listed requirements shall only be authorized by the District Fire Chief or his representatives. This permit does not relieve the user of any legal responsibility for the safe use of fire or allow burning to be done in violation of any state law, county ordinance, or local regulations restricting or regulating the use of fire. This permit may be temporarily NULL AND VOID during suspension of burning by the District Fire Chief or his authorized representative.
Any person who violates the terms or conditions of this permit shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and may be cited as such. The expense of responses to and suppression of any emergency incident that is the result of a violation of this permit may be charged to the Responsible Party whose violation caused the response of equipment and personnel.
